The year 2011 was a big outburst of joy for car race
lovers when India hosted its first ever Formula One Grand Prix in the
Buddh International Circuit (BIC) of Greater Noida. BIC was India’s
first ever motor track circuit designed by the world-renowned German
architect and racetrack designer Herman Tilke.
It was India’s pride when this great race
turned out to be a huge success despite complaints about a dirty tracks
and air pollutions created by dusts. Many people felt that the organisation
for the circuit access was disappointing vowing to the
fact the buses to and fro from the race was limited, time consuming
as well as poorly organised. Also they complaint about the quality of
food and drinks that has been served in spite of being highly overpriced
.Being an international game, the standards of food were so pathetic
in tastes .Though there were many reviews of people who had uncomfortable
experience on the first race, especially the elderly and woman with
children, yet still it did not disappoint them with the overall experience
of watching and hearing the high- powered steering machines in their
very own country. And if there is one striking point on Buddh International
Circuit is that the drivers unanimously praised the circuit along with
the international media who enjoyed themselves on the Indian Media coverage
left the overall experience strikingly remarkable.
The second F1 Indian Grand Prix (2012) had its lessons
learned from experience and the Infrastructure and Industrial Development
Commissioner (IIDC) Anil Kumar Gupta held a meeting on September 7,
2012 in Lucknow to review the preparations for the 2012 F1 Indian Grand Prix
organised to take place from October 26 to October 28 in Great
Noida along with senior officials of Greater Noida Authority
and police.
According to a press release from IIDC and reports
from the Indian Express, Mr.Gupta said, “All efforts should be made to
ensure easy access and comfortable experience of spectators, providing
medical facilities and greater number of traffic marshals with adequate
security arrangements.”
He also added that it is crucial for educating
the public about routes and facilities available, tickets, parking area
and ‘dos and don’ts’ through advertisements in newspapers
and publicise relevant information through banner and posters.
Keeping aside what had happened in the past, the
Indian Grand Prix is slowly climbing the path of winning stream. With
neat organised planning, well–informed circuits as depicted by Mr.Gupta,
this year Indian Grand Prix 2012 no doubt will turn out to be a hit
among every household members as well as make headlines with positive
reviews .We have to just wait and watch the fun .
