Michael Phelps has been a true legend in the world of
competitive swimming for many years now. Ever since he started his career in
swimming about two decades ago, this American swimmer has shown an immense
amount of promise. In about eight years, he started to reach heights that not
many had reached before him. Not many would have even thought it possible,
before Phelps showed them that it was indeed. It can truthfully be claimed that
Phelps has indeed been much ahead of any competition for the last twelve years
now.

The Future of Indian Badminton: Saina Nehwal and Kashyap Parupalli
The fact that Saina Nehwal is a bright star in the future
and the present of Indian badminton has never been doubted. Ever since she had
beaten the veteran Aparna Popat unexpectedly, there has been no looking back
for this girl from Haryana. Her determination and skill has won games and
hearts alike and her recent stint in the London Olympics is just a proof of that
fact.

The Olympian Wait
A nation of a billion people waiting for a good show at the Olympics is a tall hope-a hope that has hardly been backed by the responsible organizations. The nation of a billion produces new talent every year and they are lost thanks to bureaucracy, red tapes, inadequate support or sometimes not taking talent seriously. Our nearest neighbor, China is not only a super power but also a sports power. Every time, their medal tally at the Olympics proves this point. On the other hand, our thirst for the Olympic Gold was quenched long back. No, the sportspersons are not to be blamed. Imagine if you had to beg and ask a million times or even pay from your own pocket for basics that are required for the game. How many of you would have the heart to continue struggling like that?
